Description

Please note, the cottage has steep staircases and is unsuitable for children under the age of 8 years of age, and those with mobility issues.
Set along the water’s edge, Cornerstone Cottage offers an idyllic and relaxing retreat. This charming harbourside cottage beautifully blends traditional character with modern comforts, creating the perfect getaway by the sea. Spread over three floors, the cottage boasts stunning harbour views from both bedrooms, along with a spacious modern kitchen, and the convenience of permit parking for one car.

The Space

Cornerstone Cottage is a Grade II listed holiday home nestled on the southern side of Weymouth Harbour. Set along a charming paved street just steps from the water's edge, this deceptively spacious cottage is thoughtfully arranged over three floors, offering a blend of historic charm and modern comfort.

Kitchen-breakfast room;  A bright and airy hallway leads to a modern fitted kitchen. The kitchen is spacious and flooded with natural light from overhead skylight windows, along with large patio doors which open out to the sheltered courtyard. The kitchen is complete with all modern appliances, including washer dryer, slimline dishwasher, Nespresso CRUPS coffee machine, wine fridge, American style fridge freezer, microwave and 'cuisine master' range cooker with grill, two electric fan ovens and a five-ring gas hob. A monitor, that laptop/device can be plugged into the HDMI port (you will require a HDMI cable)  There is also a large breakfast bar with stools, which is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee and croissant whilst on holiday!

Living/Dining Room; Enjoy views from the window of Weymouth harbour, spanning over to the harbour bridge. The living room is open plan with the dining area, seperated by a feature fireplace in the centre of the room with functional gas fire. To the other side of the fireplace is an extendable dining table, with seating for up to six guests. The room also benefits from the original stone walls, which make a wonderful feature along with a window seat overlooking the courtyard.

Courtyard; A small courtyard is situated in the centre of the property, with a bistro dining set and patio doors which open from the hallway and kitchen.

Main Bedroom; Situated on the first floor, the main bedroom benefits from picture perfect views of Weymouth harbour along with an en-suite shower room and comfortable king size bed. The en-suite is complete with a shower cubicle, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and W.C.

Family Bathroom; Located on the first floor, with bath, overhead shower, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and W.C.

Bedroom two; Situated up a steep staircase to the second floor is a further bedroom. The dual aspect bedroom has fantastic views over Weymouth harbour, and houses a double bed along with a single bed which is tucked just behind the chimney stack which runs through the middle of the room. Please note there is reduced head height in this room as it is a converted loft room.

Bed Linen and Towels; Provided, please bring your own beach towels.

Fuel; Gas central heating.

Parking; Permit parking for one car.

Pets;  Sorry, no pets.

Families; Please note that due to the steep cottage staircases, the property is not suitable for children under the age of eight, or those with mobility issues.

The Location

Weymouth Harbour is a picturesque and bustling harbour and it has been a vital part of the town's history and economy for centuries. Today, Weymouth Harbour is not only a working port but also a popular destination for visitors. The quaysides are lined with cafes, galleries, restaurants, and shops, where locals and tourists alike can enjoy fresh seafood, browse for souvenirs, or simply soak in the atmosphere. The harbour is also home to various events and activities throughout the year, including sailing regattas, maritime festivals, and fireworks displays. With its scenic beauty, maritime history, and vibrant atmosphere, Weymouth Harbour continues to be a cherished part of the town's identity. The location is particularly appealing for those who appreciate historical architecture and the scenic beauty of the Jurassic Coast.

Great Location and House

We had a great weekend staying at Weymouth, this house is in the perfect spot with lovely views down the harbour. The location is just right, being on the quieter side of the water, but within easy walking to the town, beach and other areas of Weymouth. A great selection of pubs and food within a stones throw, or like us, just sit on the harbour wall outside enjoying the afternoon sun crabbing and chatting. The house itself was furnished brilliantly and really feels like a home from home with the lovely paintings and comfortable sofas. It was modern and spotlessly clean, a fantastic find and I will be returning.

Stunning house and location !!

Wow wow wow, we've stayed as a group of friends and what an amazing home to be in for a few days, We loved being so close to the water to see the boats going in and out of the harbour and being so close to a number to great bars, cafes and restaurants, busy but quiet enough as the really lively bars are in the main town centre just the other side of the harbour, 5-10 mins walk away. We'd go back !!

Amazing house right on the harbour, clean and very comfortable

Wow what a stunning holiday rental, located right on the harbour allowing you to see the hustle and bustle, It's within a minute walk of several bars and restaurants but away from the main town centre noise which is a 5 min walk to get over the bridge. Perfectly located for every type of break. Inside the decor is stunning and very well kept, weverything we could have needed was there. We loved the kitchen extension to the rear and the comfortable lounge. The main bedroom and en-suite are on the first floor along with the lovely family bathroom, then 1 bedroom with 2 separate sleeping areas separated by a large chimney structure running through the property. We hope to be back soon !!
